Rug was delivery in a very timely mannaer, packaged perfectly. It did have a new rug smell, nothing crazy in my opinion. We left it outside (still packaged) for a few hours (more so because i needed energy to bring it in) brought it in, unrolled it, & finally replaced our plug in air freshener cartridge and I smell nothing sitting on it! Nice quality for the price.
